energy performance Certificate (EPC)
Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) provide us with a modelled estimate of a buildings energy performance , based on various assumptions.
Buildings are rated on a scale of A-G, with A being the most efficient. The assessment of the building will record specific information such as the size and layout, how it has been constructed and the way it is insulated, heated and ventilated.
EPCs can only be produced by an assessor who is a member of an approved organisation.
Certificates are lodged on a central register which can be viewed by visiting the EPC register website. A certificate is valid for 10 years from the date of lodgement.
